Making AI understandable.

I co-hosted and presented this practical AI session with Shradha Maira at Timbuktu Innovation Hub. The session focused on using AI in everyday work and keeping people responsible for decisions.

My teaching material uses a fictitious flower shop to explain context, permissions, verification and human review, with examples spanning a sales assistant, quotations, invoices and a company dashboard.

I introduced Company Brain at K-Days as part of BTS’s participation in the Technology Alberta Innovation Zone. It was an opportunity to explain our internal work on organizational context and discuss practical AI with visitors.

Through volunteer work in Edmonton high schools, I share AI literacy with students and educators. My focus is on critical, responsible and transparent use, including the difference between using AI to support learning and using it to avoid learning.

I joined the Edmonton panel at Africa Centre’s Rooted & Rising Leadership Summit, connected with the Ujima Fellowship. The discussion brought together leadership, careers and the future, including what practical AI means for young BIPOC leaders.
